Program Information
● Purpose
To cultivate outstanding talents in biodiversity research in Taiwan,
The Center provides excellent faculty, research environment, and living stipends, encouraging students to participate in research projects during the summer.
● Implementation
Accepted students will receive two months of guidance at the Center during the summer,
● Eligibility
Undergraduate students in life science–related departments [rising sophomores (inclusive) and above] are eligible to apply. (
● Program Period
The internship period is from July 1 to August 31.
● Subsidies and Quota
(1) Living stipend and number of admissions
1. Living stipend: For admitted students whose household registration or current residence is within 30 km of Academia Sinica, a monthly stipend of
NTD 8,000 will be provided; for those more than 30 km away, NTD 12,000 per month
2. Admission quota: In principle, each PI laboratory will supervise one summer student per year.
(2) Participant insurance: During the program period, the Center will provide group accident insurance for participants.
● Application Method and Deadline
(1) Application deadline: April 30, 2026 (Thursday).
(2) Application requirements: Applicants must indicate the laboratories they wish to join (list at least five in order of preference),
briefly describe their motivation, and provide academic transcripts, at least one letter of recommendation, and other supporting documents.

● Selection Results
The list of admitted students will be announced on the Center’s website after May 15,
May 30 is the deadline to confirm participation in the program.
● Certificate
After completing the program, students must participate in an oral presentation/poster competition of research成果 (to be held in late August), in order to receive a certificate issued by the Center.
